Beyond the Curriculum

At Inspire Training Academy we are passionate about ensuring our learner have access to all experiences they would receive at other providers or large colleges so we are proud members of the AHT (Association of Hairdressers & Therapists) hair and beauty which allows our learners to enter competitions at both regional and nationally recognised events that allow learners to showcase their technical skills, creativity, and professionalism across a wide range of industry focused categories.

Competitions with Inspire

These competitions provide a valuable platform for students to demonstrate their abilities under real industry pressure, helping them gain exposure, confidence, and recognition within the sector.

When embedded within the curriculum, AHT competitions significantly enhance learner attainment by strengthening practical skills, raising standards, and motivating students to achieve their personal best.

They also offer meaningful opportunities for progression, enabling learners to benchmark their performance against national expectations and prepare more effectively for future employment in the hair and beauty industry.

  • WorldSkills competitions are global skills events that challenge learners to demonstrate professional level technical ability, creativity, and client care under industry realistic pressure.

By taking part, students build confidence, resilience, communication, and problem solving skills key traits that make them more employable.

Embedding World Skills activity into the curriculum enhances learners’ experience by stretching their abilities beyond qualification requirements and motivating them to aim for industry standard excellence.

  • Being part of HABIA gives training providers a trusted mark of quality, as Habia is the governmentrecognised Standard Setting Body for the industry.

Their endorsement assures learners that training meets uptodate National Occupational Standards, boosting credibility and learner confidence. Providers also benefit from joining a specialist network that shares best practice and supports highquality education across the sector.

Each year we select two students to become the HABIA students of the year for both hairdressing and beauty therapy.

  • Throughout the year, learners who meet academy expectations will have access to a range of team building trips, enrichment activities, and specialist masterclasses designed to broaden their experiences and deepen their industry understanding.

These opportunities help build confidence, strengthen peer relationships, and provide valuable exposure to realworld professional practices enhancing both personal development and future career readiness.
